I ALMOST ended up in the drive thru tonight.
ALMOST.
I started my day early with a 3 mile run, followed by a power work session where I pounded away at the keyboard working on a number of various projects.
Then I spent half an hour in the bathroom getting my hair fixed and makeup on for a video shoot. I’m generally a low maintenance kinda girl who can work and play all day in yoga pants and t-shirt, but today I had to spruce up for the camera!
Once my work for the day was completed, I spent a couple hours soaking up all the fun in the sun that I could with my 4 boys at the pool. I adore spending time at the pool because it wears the boys out and makes bedtime so.much.easier.
By the time I got the boys into the van after all the pool fun, I felt like I wanted to collapse…apparently the pool (and running, and working, and videos) wears me out too.
On the way home I kept saying to myself, “Just pick up some burgers…just pick up some burgers.” About halfway home, I snapped back into reality and remembered that I already had everything I needed at home to make dinner. And that I even had food in the freezer that I could reheat on the stovetop.
So I parked the van in the garage, opened the deep freezer as I walked into the house, grabbed a bag of the Cheesesteak Sloppy Joes & some buns, then walked through the laundry room and dropped off all the wet towels I had on my other arm, then headed for the kitchen.
Within 20 minutes, I had the food thawed and warming on the stovetop.
Meanwhile, the house is bustling as the boys get changed out of their wet swimsuits and get to helping me clean up and get ready for dinner.
Busy and exhausted, pretty much the story of my life as a working mom…just trying to keep my busy boys fed and happy!

Now, if I were to guess your questions or hesitations about joining the $5 Meal Plan family, they would be these…
- “I don’t think my kids will eat these meals.”
- “I’m worried that I’ll not be able to make modifications for our diet.”
- “What if I don’t like the meals?”
Am I right? Let me address those for you here…
- Picky Eater – Welp, you won’t know until you try! I was talking to a church friend who is a member and she was telling me how surprised she was about her son enjoying all the new food she was making. She (and he) had worked themselves into a ‘food rut’ and she was delighted to find that he really was all that picky after she started adding more variety into their meal plans.
- My Cooking Style – I deal with 4 different food allergies/intolerances among 4 of my family members, so I completely understand needing ‘easy-to-modify’ recipes. My cooking style developed around these food allergies and is one that is very ‘from-scratch’ and ‘swappable’ and ‘omittable’ – meaning that it’s easy to just omit cheese, or use rice milk for dairy. Or switch out gluten-free pasta for regular pasta, etc.
- Free Trial – The 2-week free trial was designed specifically for you to try the meals out for free. I’ll send you the current week’s meal plans for 2 weeks, so you can get a sense of whether or not the meal will work for your family.
I want you to be confident in your decision to join us, and that’s why we offer a 100% Satisfaction Guarantee. If you are not completely satisfied with your membership at any time or you decide that it is not for you, I will refund your last payment amount on the spot. No questions asked, no hoops, no games.
